Getting rooted to why CatShack even began in the first place brings me to narrate to you all my story.
So to begin with, I have always been the quintessential Cat-lady all my years in the planet, that’s 23 years now, clearly I had my feline friends home much before I was even born as my parents have always been gravitated towards animals in general, especially cats all their lives, Hence my love and affection towards them only multiplied with time. With all the warmth growing within back one day when I was still a teen my dad brought Snowie home. SNOWIE my first ever persian Kitty at my door. It was the time when the child in me was dreaming of a Persian cat with wide eyes for the longest time, clearly because they had their own sense of charm and elitness added to their honour which I was desperate to own. As naive as I was all that I wanted was her! not the details of of where she had come from and why.So I grab her in my arms and start to cuddle until I heard her shiver and watched her meow which wasn’t even heard to naked ears
Little did I know that she was not just an answer to my prayers, but the innocent priceless soul, a little bundle of cotton- white as snow was rescued from a breeder/reseller.Who she had managed to escape from and hid under a train seat for days, hungry and frightened. To my good fortune she was found and handed over to an acquaintance of mine, who assumed she was sick as she was petrified and badly wounded also voiceless, which made him call us for help so we could adopt her. The hardships of this poor tot did not end here.
She was into depression and would run all around the house like her soul shivered, out of fear with the slightest noise she heard even that of the door bell or of a honk. She hid under the couch for weeks initially, until she finally accepted as or rather started to trust as humans again. Her wounds took months to heal and because she dealt with severe depression and trust issues with which vet checks only seemed impossible. It took her a lot to trust as it took us as a family a lot not just to win her confidence but also to help her heal inside out.
To facilitate her journey out of depression we had are vet visiting her alternate weekend, and months later we were overwhelmed and equally content to know that her wound had healed and she was strongly fighting her own fears for us.
After we had won our first battle we decided for our Queen to have her king. We then began to look for a hunky boy for snowie. Now here began another phase of struggle. We approached quite a few pet shops as ideally when you look for a pet you go to a pet shop! don’t you? To our surprise rather shock which give us heart aches was that Here they-the well known prestigious pet stores weren’t selling animals-who hunt for the voices in us humans, depend upon us for their survival in a money minded world like today’s. but to them they were mere objects/products. Means of earning wealth as though they were lifeless.
Dose-dependent little eyes of of cats, birds and dogs looked at me through cages. Cages just as big as them with a little space left for their food to be kept, no water either. Some slept due to weakness some meowed for help.To the holy life they blessed these voiceless beings with, they demanded a price way too Higher then their own standards, which would ultimately help the namesake humans cage more dependent lives and multiply the earnings overtime.
Considering the ruthlessness portrayed by the pet stores we chose to look for alternative so we don’t encourage the concept of ‘caging the voiceless week’ by buying a Kitty from such demeaning worthless platforms. Making our hearts strong we moveed head towards the internet.
Here we found many kittens/cats on sale. Some kept well with lots of love and some caged as how how others were in the pet stores. The kittens which looked healthy and Happy belonged to those homes, where they got love, but they barely got the time and care which is a main requirement of the Persian cat breed inorder to survive, which also required money such people couldn’t afford to have them, and some who had the money didn’t have time and attention to give to them which they deserved, as maintenance is a high rated requirement is well. The rest which were caged clearly belongs to those to whom these cats and kittens where only means of making money.Namely the inhuman breeders and the tarnishing resellers.
Then finally came a time when we found a king to our queen- SNUFF!! After good hunt and a few major heartbreaks pestering worry in us.We found Snuff in a home, with the person who not only owned him but also many other cats to whom he was desperately looking for homes better than his own which suited snuff and the others as he was flying out of the country forever. And as I like to believe and hope was true Snuff found his home where Snowie lived.
This phase of life which felt like the worst rollercoaster I had ever tried, made me want to strongly ‘become the voice of the voiceless’ in ways I could why CATSHACK has now come in action.
CatShack is a cattery where one would find home breed cats and kittens and also those who are bought from those who either can’t look after them or those who ill treat them. We here make sure each kitten/cat is healthier than ever with regular vet checks and grooming sessions. We bring to you great quality healthy, playful,well-trained and affectionate kitties, who are happy inside out- looking for their forever homes and families who promise to give them a life better than that they found in CatShack.

I believe that every kitty out there deserves the life I work towards giving them. I strongly believe there is a heart like mine which melts at the very look of these furry munchkins in each one of you reading this. This is my way to appeal to you to become the voice behind the meow and the feeling behind the purr.
